DRUID ROCK

A chance to visit druid rock.

To see if it has any power.
At this time, on this hour.

I don't know how it found this space.
Whether nature or man put it in place.

What has it seen from its lofty status?
For those who cogitate on its operatus.

Ten thousand years would be understatement.
If you look at glacier abatement.

We could learn a thing or two.
If we had lived in its shoes.

Equinox to equinox it measures the seasons.
Its weather face explains the lessons.

From its perch it could watch the brook flow.
And see the mighty hemlocks grow.

It must have been there before any trees.
To line up with the sisters three.

So I will ask it a few questions.
To try to interpret the cyclic progressions.

It can't tell me all it knows.
But some of its language shows.

It is an ancient tongue.
Foreign to one so young.

I will listen while I am here.
some moments in a slower gear.
