EAGLE ROOST

Over night the ice took hold
A bridge to the island without a toll

After a few more frosty nights
One might put on their skates and take flight

Years have put some obstacles in place
So now it's mostly a mental race

Yet if the conditions were just right
That goal might still be in sight

Experience tells me the ice is too thin for close inspection
So from this space I will study it's mirror reflection

Bridges come and bridges go
It depends on which way the wind might blow

Reflections tell a different story
It's Frost's path to glory

I believe I will wait and take a dory.
