BARREN

You can't put a leash on a lupin
You can go along for the ride
There are flowers you can buy for the scooping
There are those who find the right space to hide

I stopped on the edge of a barren
Weary from pushing too fast
Just to take stock of how I was fairing
The destination would just have to last

A Raven called hello from the heavens
Flowers ran wild at my feet
I forgot the reason for stopping or even taking a seat

There were bees, beetles and butterflies not knowing a barren by name
I guess no one ever asked them to see if their dictionary was the same

A breeze sent the grasses all running
The scent of the woods filled my head
My body was no longer moving
My mind was racing instead
